Dr. Gregoire, Thanks for the kind words. Metacognition…Prior to becoming literate, I suggest, children know they know but it is totally intuitive, it’s a feeling, a sense that something is either true or not, accurate or not, partial or whole. The…

Dr. Gregoire, I am of the opinion that reality is socially constructed, and thus all reality is nothing more than perception formed through one's integration with a society's thought world. And our thought world decrees reality in numbers. So, and…

Dr. Gregoire, It's interesting you site the locus of the power of numbers in industrialization, and in a misapplication to boot. I on the other hand site the locus the power of numbers within social literacy, upon which industrialization, mechaniza…

Dr. Gregoire, As I understand it, it's been a long while since I came across this in a study of the Declaration of Independence, folks in the mid-eighteenth century actually developed math functions measuring Happiness. Western Civ. has had a deep…

Yeah, but "learn" what. The great problem when adults, educators in particular, say "all children can learn", is that what is meant by learning is exclusively all the adult determined schooling subjects. There is an assumption here that learning mus…

Well, 'when we say change' is hopping now. I am still interested in your going deeper into my concept...i find you a good match for a debate. I am going to serve up what is really my enriched uranium. The whole system can be reduced and subverted by Play.

This may be too much too soon, but this is where I'm headed,

Thank you for your comments. I totally agree that the entire paradigm of P-12 education is a thing of the past. We are not the first to think this way. If John Dewey were alive today, people would write him off as a lunatic. They've already written me off. Tell me how to make the necessary changes occur, and I'll lead the way. If only we could make this happen, I could die a happy man.

PS: I need your phone number because my guest pass form function on the site requires it. That's the only reason. I do not mine or do anything else with that information. Who know, perhaps we can be 'friends' on the Educating for Greatness web site.

Leo, I appreciate the honesty in your response. There's much to mistrust in the world. I've not made a lot of money advancing a concept in the marketplace of ideas. For every 1000 people I talk to one somehow 'get it'--although what scam artist would use a Letter to the President Elect unless he was selling presidential seals? No, option 2, I can reassure you, is the correct one. If you work in the marketplace of ideas, you are damned if don't and damned if you do charge for service or product. If you have an electric light bulb, you charge under the current model, but I do believe that air, water, and energy should be made free to all at some point. But I digress. I am a bona fide inventor. I was invited to Europe to present scientific papers on play and communication, and if you Google me, you'll find stuff.

I have something of value to offer this group, and as I stated, even though there is a subscription fee attached to what I offer educators, my professional purpose is to set a cultural change agent in motion. And that is what I wish to show you and perhaps the group. What else can I do to prove my integrity?

The web site is Puppetools.com

The baggage of bias and misperception heaped on terms like 'puppets' and 'play' are ultimately not my problem. Those terms are pidgeon-holed by educators at the 20 foot level at their risk and loss. I'm an educator who has probed those two features of learning and communication down to the core, to the hundred foot level. You want play to drive, fuel, and propel learning? You can have what you want. We can all have it. You just have to be willing, like Alice, to fall into a rabbit hole. Just send me what I asked for and I can show you concept documents that are the basis of the assertions and claims in my posts.

Best,
Jeff Peyton

I have been waiting for a great, thoughtful response like yours. Thank you. I can provide an answer to your question by sending you a handful of links on my web site. If you feel that the information provided offers something substantive and new to the group's mission or to the subject of reform in general, I would be happy to provide a group guest pass into the site so that the links can be accessed. If you email me with basic contact info including a phone number, I will send you login user and password. Thanks again for your response.
